MELBOTJENE, Oct. 12. Mirridong did a clinking iive furlongs this morning, and Vakeel covered a mile in ■ lmin 48£ sec. Hartington had a nine furlong spin, which he covered in 2min2aec. Jeweller cut a most inglorious figure when asked to do five furlongs, taking no less than lmin lOsec over it. He evidently dislikes a left-handed style of going. Realm and Cannon did a rattling mile and a half's working gallop. Fifteen hundred to 45 is taken about Oxide for the Caulfield Cup. The Derby betting underwent some change last night, 100 to 12 being offered on thtr field. Mystery defeated Osfcerley at Richmond yesterday, making a two-mile trotting record of 4aiin S6£sec.
