', fixing the next aeries for January, and has adjourned till Wednesday. ' Sir J. $. G-arrick, Agent- General for Queensland, considers a loan very unlikely at present, in view of the policy of economy decided upon recently.
The National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand has received the following cable message: — The Tainui left Eio on the morning of Oct. 9 with her me"at in good condition.
Messrs Henry S. Fitter and Sons have received the following cable message dated LONDON, Oct. 9. Canterbury mutton 3|d to 4d, Canterbury lamb 3£d to 3|d, Wellington mutton 3d to 3£d f Australian sheep 2|d to 3d, Australian beef hindquarters, 3d to 3|d, fore-quarters 2fd to2|d. . __
