» I An ordinary meeting of the Canterbury [ Land Board was held yesterday ; present j — Mr J. W. A. Marchant, Chief Commis- i sioner of Crown Land., in the chair, and Messrs D. M'Millan and A. Fringle. Applications for land under village homestead perpetual leases were granted bb follows : — William Armitage, 2 acreß, Arowhenua village settlement j Prances Alice Armitage, 3 acres 35 perches, Arowhenua Village Settlement; and James M'Clintock, 2 acres, Arowhenua Village Settlement. Alber. Gyneß waß j granted 40 acreß, Lot 23,: Beserve 1381, j Geraldine Survey District, in perpetual lease; and William John Cole, G. W. Brogden and Godfred Piskie, 1 rood each, for occupation with right of purchase, in the Arowhenua Village Settlement. E. B. Amyes was granted a freehold title for E.S. 36244, Opihi Survey District. The | transfer of a portion of tho Birch Hill j Station, Mackenzie Conntry, from G. A. • Sutherland to A. D. Sutherland was ap- j proved. Ifc was resolved to recommend j the Government to withdraw lots 13 and i 14, Eeserve 2645, near Bangit-ta, from ' village homestead conditions,, and to offer j them for cash sale at an upset price of £1 15s per acre on certain conditions. Proposals submitted by. the Le Bons, ! Kakaia, Gerald-EC and Hampstead Eoad I Boards as to payments of land fund were j approved. A propo.al submitted by the : j Wakanui Eoad Board for expenditure of j thirds from Re-erve 2165 was approved, as ! | the works, propos_d to be carried oufc were i on roads fronting this reserve.
