In order that these orude oil's may not bo taken for our Pure Volatile Euoalypti Extract, which ia recognißod hy the medical division of tho Prussian Government to he of perfectly pure origin, as per information forwarded to us through the Consul at Melbourne, March 2, 1878 we state:— It ia proved by test, made by the Mediosl Clinics of the Universities at Bonn and Greifswald (Prussia), and reported by Dr Shulz, Professor of Pharmacology at Bonn, and Professor Dr Mosler. Direotor of the Modieal Clißio at Greifswald, that only products that are saturated with oxygon and free ot aoids, resinous and other substanceß, adheront to primary distilla tion, will develop the sanative qualitios proper to the plant. All crude oil. or so-oallod Eucalypti Eztraots are to be classed according to the named authorities among tho turpentines whioh ara of insignificant medicinal value, and abandoned long sinoe as an internal medicament. These orude oils,, ox so-called Eucalypti Extracts, aro discernible— 1, By their deficiency iv pungent odour (whioh oiu product, the only genuine Eucalypti Extract, develops looeb freely through its surplus of oxygen). 2. By their alooholio, thifl, and mobilo appearance being reduepd in spociilo density through the pseseuce of aoids. 8. By their tasto, the result of the contraotinst tondenoy of resins and tanats.
