New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company.
THE RECONSTRUCTION SCHEME. [Per Pbess Association.] AUCKLAND, Sept. 5. The General Manager of the Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Mr Battley, has received the following cablegram from Mr T. Russell, who is now in Melbourne :— " Melbourne, Sept. 5. I have received the following message from the London Committee : — ' Met again to-day. Scheme not yet finally settled. Hope telegraph result on Sept. 7.'" Mr Battley states that previous telegrams all show that the arrangements for reconstruction are likely to eventuate successfully.
