BAMDEE *■ SONS' EUCALYPTI EXTBACT — Under the distinguished patronage of His Majesty the King of Italy, as per communication made by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, through the Consul-General for Italy at Melbourne, Maroh 14, 1878, Awarded Diploma at the Amsterdam Exhibition, 1883, Acknowledged b« Medical Clinics and Universities all over the globe. There are imitations of Eucalypti Extract in the market, products of simple distillation, forming crude reßinous oils. In order that these orade oils may not be taken for our Pure Volatile Eucalypti Extract, which is recognised by the medical division of the Prussian Government to ba of perfectly pure origin, as per information forwarded to as thraugh the Consul at Melbourne, Maroh 2, 1878 we state:— it is proved by testa made by the Medioal Clinics of the Universities at Bonn_and Greifswald (Prussia), and reported by Dr Shulz, Professor of Pharmacology at Bonn, and Professor Dr Mosler. Direotor of the Medioal Cl_ do at Greifswald, that only products that are satu. rated with oxygen and free of acids, resinous and other substances, adherent to primary distills tion, will develop the sanative qualities proper to the plant. All crude oil, or so-called Eucalypti Extracts are to be classed according to the named authorities among the turpentines which are of inaignifioant medicinal value, and abandoned long since as an internal medicament. These crude Oils,, or so-called Eucalypti Extracts, are dis. cernible— 1. By their deficiency in pungent odour (whioh our product, the only genuine Eucalypti Ex. tract, develops roort freely through its sorplus of oxygen). 2. By their alcoholic, thin, and mobile appear* ance being reduced in specific density through the presence of acids. 8. By their taste, the result of the contracting tendency of resins and tanats. If these oruAa oils, of so-called Eucalypti Ex. traote, are applied by mistake in cases of oronp, bronchitis, diphtheria, internal inflammations, dysentery, &c, the consequences are most appal, ling.
