Christchurch.
The nominations for the election of & Councillor for each of the five Wards of the city will close at noon to-morrow. Up to the present only the retiring Councillors have been Dominated, but there are rumours of several other persons who are hkely to come forward. Testarday a largely-signed aud representative requisition was presented to Mr W. W. Collins, asking him to stand for the South- weßb Ward in opposition to Mr J. T. Smith. Mr Collins has promised to give a reply tomorrow morning.
