AUCKLAND EACING CLUE. AUCKLAND, Sept. 4, The following handicaps have been declared in connection with the Auckland Racing Club's Spring Meeting, -which takes place at Ellerslie on Sept. 16 :— SPRING HANDICAP, of 70 sots. One mile and a

A general meeting of the Ashburton Trotting Club was held on Saturday night. Mr J. C. Duncan occupied the ohaii*, and there was a large attendance of members. TheChairmancongratulatedmembersottthe success of the pastjaeason, both financially und as regards sport. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of <£1O after paying all expenses, including a sum of £35 for the formation of a new track. The following officer wore appointed :— President, Mr D. M'Lean ; Vice-Preßident, Mr D. M'Kendry; Judge, Mr M. Stittj Secretary, Mr D. Zander; Treasurer, Mr J. 0. Duncan; Committee, Messrs M. Pnedander, EL J. Taster, H. Zander, A. J. Kelly, D. M'Kendry and J. C. Duncan; Handicappers, Messrs H. Styche and J. C. Duncan. The Committee met afterwards, vhen Mr J. C. Duncan was appointed Chairnan, and it was decided to hold the spring neeting on Wednesday, Oct. 18. A Comnittee was appointed to draw up a projramme.
