A pleasing little ceremony took placo on Thursdap evening, when several members of the Kice^rton Jockey Boys' Club waited on Mr R. Derrstt at hia home, and asked his acceptance of a small gilt in token of appreciation of the service 3 he had rendered ia aviating to bring the Club to its now fl/uuahing state. Mr DerreU, who has besn very active in promoting 'he good of the Club, recently tested office. The presentation consisted of a silvermounted ebony walking-Btick and a cigarca<e, each of which bore a suitable inscription. The President, in handing over the gift?, hoped that Mr Derrpts would in the future again ccc his wayt'N hold office. Mr Derretb euitibly ack^ 2edged the presentation. A general meeting of the Waimate Harrier Club was hsld on Thursday nitrht ; present— Messrs W.M'Govern, Cx. Barclay, W. H. Beckett, G. S. Mathias, E. 0. Studholme, M. C. Studholme, P. Dooley, W. G.
