Pioneer Bicycle Club.
ANNUAL MEETING. The sixteenth annual general meeting of members of the Pioneer Bicycle Club waa held last evening. The Captain, Mr W. B. Eyre, occupied the chair, and twenty-seven members were present. The annual report congratulated the members on the high position of the Club, notwithstanding the opposition met during the season. The number of active members on the roll was ninety-six, compared with seventy-six last season. Reference was made to the work of last season, and the Committee felt certain that the Club's champion, Mr W. J. S. Hayward, could hold his own with any cyclist in the Australian colonies. The. balance-sheet showed the receipts to have amounted to .£457 13s 3d, and the expenditure to .£4lO 7s 4d. The assets were valued at .£147 14s Id, and the liabilities amounted to i>33 8s 2d, leaving a balance to credit of .£ll4 5s lid. On the motion of the Chairman, seconded by Mr F. R. Dunsfoid, the report and balancesheet were adopted. The following officers were elected :— President, Hon E. C. J. Stevens (re-elected); Vice-Pre* sidents, Mr W. B. Perceval and Dr Jennings (re-elected) ; Captain, Mr W. J. S. .Haywardj Deputy-Captain, Mr Harry Thompson (re-elected); Hon Treasurer, Mr D. P. Murie. The election of Hon Secretary was held over. Committee, Messrs P. R-Dunsford, C. A. Myhre, C. G. Moss, H. J. Moss, W. G. Roberta and M. Brown ; delegates to the New Zealand Cyclists* Alliance, Messrs W. J. S. Hayward and P. J» Dunn; Auditors, Messrs W. B. Eyre and W. P. Waller. A letter was read from Mr W. G. Cookeon, Hon Secretary- of the New Zealand Cash Amateur Bicycle Club, requesting the Club to appoint a Sub-Committee to confer with the Club in regard to the proposal for laying a wooden track, Mr W. P. Waller moved — "That the Secretary be instructed to reply that the Club cannot see ita way to confer with the Cash Amateur Bicycling Club in regard to the proposed wooden track." Mr H. Thompson seconded the motion, which was carried unanimously. The following new members were olected : —Messrs C. L. Wiggins, P. Rofcson, P. W. Halletb, J. Rastrick, N. Oates and E. Farrel. Six resignations were accepted. The Secretary was instructed to writs to Mr J. Martin, one of the oldest members, thanking him for the valuable services he had rendered to the Club during the time he had been connected with it. It was decided to place Mr Martin's name on the complimentary list. It was decided to open the Beaeoa with Club runs on Sept. 21 and 23. Votes of thanks to the retiring officers, the Presa and the Chairman closed the meeting.
