ADDINGTON YARDS.

THIS DAT. > The lovely weatber, no doubt, had something to do with the large attandance at | the Addington market to-day. The entry 1 of sheep was Bomewhat smaller than usual, only between 5000 and 6000 being yarded, while the entry of cattle showed an in--1 crease. Business wbb fairly brisk. Fat Sheep.— About 3500 fat sheep came forward, and though the entry was small the quality was certainly inferior to that 1 of laEt week's yarding, a number of smaller 1 sorts being included. There were not ' many merino., but there was a decided ; improvement in their quality. The sale ' opened at about last week's rateß, and bid--1 ding was fairly brisk. A very good line of ' cross-bred wethers and maiden eWes ' changed hands at from 19s 2d to 20s ; ahd • some grand merino wethers from the [ Buccleugh estate went as high as 15s 4d. ' Other lines sold fairly well. 1 Store Sheep.— Eather more than 1500 ' sheep, mostly hoggeta and breeding ewes, | were in the store pens. Competition was ' brisk, a line of cross-bred ewea close to ' lambing fet.hing 17s 3d, and hoggets from : 10a to 12s. Fat Cattle.— The fat cattle showed an increase in numbers, and a decided improvement in quality. Competition was poor, and valueß were quits up to thoße of laßt week. A magnificent bullock from the Mount Parnassus Btation brought £16 ss, and two lighter bea.t. from the same 1 estate sold at -613. Bullocks averaged _810 10s, heifers £7 7s, and cows sold at from £Qto£B. 1 Store Cattle.— There was a full yard--1 ing of store cattle, amongst which were 1 somo well-grown yearlings and two-year-olds and a number of dry cows. Business showed an improvement, and prices were, | if anything, higher than last week. Dairy Cows. — A large number of dairy ' cows were ent.red, including some very good sort?. Business was good and the sale was a moet satisfactory one. Pigs.— A medium entry of pigs came to hand and business was on a par with last week's.
