Newspaper Runners.

TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —l came across in my, travels the other day a newspaper runner who waß struggling under a load which would not have disgraced a donkey's equipage. I said, "Why this thusneßs, my old and esteemed friend?" "Oh! it's these blooming bills inside the papers, and the bills are twice as heavy as the papers." Of course you are paid extra for this extra load ? " " Not a bit of it," says he, " and there are plenty of men who are being done out of a job by this donkey-loading system, worse luck." "Is this done by a Liberal paper?" I aßked. "Oh, it's all the same, Liberal or Conservative; it makes no difference." I left him, poor old soul, to. deliver his round, and thought of - the taskmasters of Egypt and the bricks without straw business. —l am, &c, OLD NEWSMAN.
