Board, being interested in the matter* i may consider whether it is advisable to I : po-opetftte with the Public Trust office in : its endeavours to bring abont some improvement. Thero is a very trifling balance in hand (only some £b) of the b capital of the Twigger estate, which in terms • of th>> vvill shouldbe invested, the income j bf in ir available towards the maintenance of certain institutions under the Board's con- , trol. An opportunity offered the other day of " inve«L;u« £30inaNew Zealand Government i security, and if that is still open, the Board L may possibly be disposed to capitalize £25 I of the income already in hand in order to secure the investment of the entire capital for eoiue time to come. The other business ' before us to-day is purely of a formal > nature ; bub I think the Board will join me • in expressing sympathy with Mr York in his recent sad bereavement. Dr T. O. 1 Gutbric, medical officer at Lyttelton, \ applied for leave of absence, which I i granted, » locum tenens being nominated • j for tie time/ ; Mr Poryuaan moved— "That the Board I ! inform the Public Trustee that it is willing to co-operate in the matter of drainage." , This was carried. ; It was decided to invest .£25 as suggested in the statement.
