Judge Williams has authorised the re-opening of the Australian Joint Stock Bank, on the London Directors giving Mr Stewart, the Official Beceiver, a receipt for the assets. The Bank of Victoria and the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney have re»opened, and are paying many drafts. Otherwise business is quiet. MELBOURNE, Ju«k 20. The Court haß sanctioned the scheme for the reconstruction of the Colonial Bank of Australasia, subject to several amendments. The full Court dealt with the appeal against the reconstruction scheme of the Commercial Bank of Australia, hut with the exception of making _Corporation trusts leave a third of their depoßitß with the Bank for ten yeare, thus putting them on a similar footing with those compelled to take preferential shareß, and making the Directors enforce calls, it left the scheme practically as sanctioned by the Chief Justice.
