AUCKLAND, Juki 19. At a meeting of the University College Council to-day the oase of Professor AldU came up for consideration. Mr E H Heßketh proposed—"That the motion that the Professor's services be dispensed with, be rescinded $" but the motion waa lobt by five to four. Alter a lengthy discussion it wbb resolved that tbe notice of dißmUsal which had been held over under inatruc* tionß, be forwarded to Professor Aldia.and that any explanation he may be pleased to make be received before re-openin_ the case. **
