Forrester, Esqa.): Alleged Larceny*— Thomas Meek was charged with stealing, on June 16, at Wligh a Boarding-honse, Victoria street, two blankets, value 17a, the property of John Bligh. As another man hadibeea • remanded till Friday next on a charge of stealing blankets from Bligh's Boardinghouse, the Bench, on the application of Serjeant-Major Mason, remanded accused to the same date. (Before R. Beetbam, Esq., E.M., and B. Westenra, Esq.V Civic Cases.—J. C. Trickett and C. B. Walker v. J. Eeddington, claim £8 9a. Mr .ihomas for plaintiff?,, for whom judgment waa given by default for the amount claimed, with costs £1 18a.—Delamain and Co. v. C. Hadfield, claim X5.128 for damages. Mr Salter for plaintiff, Mr Eippenberger to* defendant. The plaintiffs stated that defendant engaged a waggonette and pair of horses on Sept. 12 last to go to the Barawood road and back, returning in the evening. Defendant engaged the turn-out for £1, and did not return with the honea until between five and six o'clock on the following morning, when they appeared to be very tired. Previous to the day defendant engaged the horses they were always in constant use, but after they were returned by defendant they were unable to go long journeys for some time. Judgment was. given for plaintiffs for £3*
