LYTTELTON.
This Day. (Before A. Chalmers, Esq.) Laerikinism.— John Duffle, P. M'Bae, A. Wright, Edward Fenton, William Bethke and W. Norgate, six of the larrikin element of the port, were charged with disturbiDg the Bervicea of the Salvation Army on Sunday, June 4. The boys denied the offence. The officers of the Army gave evidence as to the nature of the | disturbance, which was caused by the defendants throwing bags of dust and various things against the door, and in other ways interfering with the meeting. Duffle, M'Eae and Wright were convicted, while the others were dismissed with a caution. Duffle, M'Eae and Wright were each ordered to receive six strokes of the birch.
