THE NEW STEAMSHIP LINE.
The establishment of the Australian steamship line, to run in connection with the Canadian Pacific railway, is treated by the agents of the Oceanic Steamship Company in San Francisco with great indifference. They say th.it their line is so superior in point of shorter distance and quicker time, besides having the advantage of sending travellers through the United States, that any steamship line running to Victoria or Vancouver, and connecting with the Canadian Pacific, cannot hope to compete with them. The first Bteamßhip of the new line, the Miowera, left Sydney on May 9, and would arrive at Victoria, 8.C., on June 9, stopping en route at Brisbane and Honolulu. She will leave on her return trip on June 14, making the same stop?. On June 18 the b.b. Warrimoo will leave Sydney, arriving at Vancouver on July 9. There will be a permanent monthly service.
