Professor Richard.

. The Oddfellows' Hall was well filled last night, when Professor Richard gave another exhibition of his powers as a medical electrician.. Before commencing the electric healing the Professor referred in Btrong terms to an-attack made on him in what he termed " a pink hand-bill." He , said he was prepared'to put down £1000 against £100 on the terms of the challenge he issued on the previous night. He said that it was a matter that concerned the police, the Government and every citizen, and he, as an honest man, claimed protection as- well as any other. After further remarks of a like character the Professor proceeded' to treat cases, the firsb'being thatof Mrs M'PhersoD, of Linwood, who was affllctedwith deafness. She stated that the minister at Phillipstown had refused to give her a letter, as he considered the Professor an.impoafcor. After treatment Mrs M'Pherson said she could hear considerably better. The second case was that of Mrs Drury, of Belfast, recommended by the Bible Christian Institute through- the Rev. Mr Qnintrell. As the lady was stone deaf, the Professor said it was scarcely a fair trial. He did not guarantee cures, but he would do his beßt. After treatment Mrs Drury could hear the ProfesEot's voice, and in many cases answered his questions correctly. In the third and last case treated*, the patient (Mrs Abrahams), recommended by Dean Jacobs, had been helpless for three years with both anna and legs. Her father (Mr Laycock) accompanied his daughter on the platform. Very soon Mrs Abrahams was enabled to put on her own bonnet, and afterwards, led by the Professor, she walked round the stage, and eventually walked the length of the hall without assistance. This oonoluded the casea treated last night, but the Professor said that he should be here till June 28, and contemplated returning to Christchurch, and therefore he intended to leave a good reputation behind him.. A laughable entertainment was then given on the effects of electricity. A change of programme was announced for to-night.
