Messrs Wilson and Sons -are still despatching steamers from Hull, despite the opposition of the Unionists. ! .April 9. j The Unionists at Grimsby have [ undertaken to boycott vessels from I Hull. The Seamen's Union intends ito fight the shipping federation at | every possible port. Hull is quiet. The shipping trade of Hull is entirely suspended. All the dockers, j seamen and firemen have struck. A j non-union office was wrecked, and ! the strength of the military has been iv creased. The Unionists attacked the hands engaged in unloading the J steamers, bat were repulsed by the | police at the point of the bayonet . Mr Wilson and the member for Middtesborough are trying to induce the Home Secretary to disarm the Unionists. The naval authorities have been asked to send gunboats to Hull to I protect shipping interests. Mr J. H. Wilson, member for Middlesbrough, addressing a meeting in connection with the Hull strike, said i there was a glorious chance to set the seamen, dockers and miners aflame. Mr Wilson, the shipowner, has declined to dismiss non-unionists, i saying he would prefer to remove his 1 vessels- from the port.
