The London Poor.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib, — It waß with surprise and regret tha'- I read your London correspondent's letter on the poor at Tower Hill. Had he been writing for a Tory paper, he could not have written in a more heartlees style. No doubt amongst that hungry crowd there are Borne very bad men, and some may be loafers, but I venture to assert that the great majority of them would be only too willing to woik if they could get ifc to do. A recital of what one man should say as to how he procured two square meals is nob very edifying to Colonial readers. If something is not soon done to atop the great distress in London and different parts of the world, we need not be surprised if we get cable3 of some fearful revolution. — I am, &c. ' NEVER BURLESQUE MISERY.
