Esqs.) Dbttnkennesb.— A first offender, who did not appear, was fined 10s and costs, with the usual alternative in default.
Alleged Labcent from a Till.— Thomas Downs was charged with stealing from the till at the Grosvenor Hotel on Feb. 27 153, the property of J. W. Cleary. Inspector Broham applied for a remand till Friday next, as another man was charged with the same offence, and he would like the two charges to be taken together. The Bench remanded accused till Friday. , Alleged Inflicting Gbibvous Bodily Habm.— George Myles (on remand) was charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm upon Edward Adams, at Christchuroh, on Feb. 20. Mr Donnelly appeared for accused. Inspector Broham applied for a further remand, as he was not prepared to go on with the case. Mr Donnelly objected to a remand until some evidence was forthcoming. He stated that the prosecutor was in Court. The Bench remanded accused till Monday next, bail being allowed as before, aoouaed in one surety of £50 and two sureties ;o£ £25 each.
Family Tboubles.— Catherine Morgan charged her husband, Thomas Morgan, with unlawfully using threatening language towards her on Feb. 22. . Proeeoutrix stated that her husband waß very
: violent when under the influence of | liquor. On Feb. .22 he came home very ; much intoxicated, and used very bad : language towards her. Defendant denied 1 this, and applied for a remand, to enable him to bring evidence contradicting his wife's statement. The Bench adjourned the case till March 15.
Destitute Persons Act.— The case of : Philadelphia Pickett v. Samuel Picketfc, a ; case under the Destitute Persons Act, was i adjourned till Wednesday next.
