The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Melbourne, writing under date Feb. 15, reports as follows :•— Wheat has a tendency to fall in value, thongh to no greab extent. In the present! state of the market, while shipping is going on, and millers are able to get supplies, we anticipate a fluctuating market for some little time. To-day prime sold up to 3a 2£d, and dirty to 2s lOd to 3a Id. la feed grain a fair business is doing in all cereals. Oats are purchased •with rather more spirit than hitherto at about late rates. Maize has advanced in sympathy with the interco'onial demand, t»nd up to 43 4d and 4s 6d 13 paid. Barley is BtiU the leading feature in our market, and pricea have still further advanced! This has had some effect on holders, and more ia now offering, and is readily taken up. For prime malting 4a Gd has been paid. Eye 3s lid. Peas 2a 4d.

The attendance of buyers was good aud biddings were spirited. The prices were a£d to higher than at the previous sales. Half-bred sold up to 85-d, croan-bred 7sd, merino locks 3Jd, pieceo s£d, clothing 6sd, combing 6£d.
