This Day. (Before T. Gapes-and C. M. Gray, Esqs.) Drunkenness. —A first offender waß fined 5b and costs, with the usual alternative in default.—A female first offender waß fined 5s for being drunk, Is 6d for cab hire and 10s 6d for medical attendance. Using Obscene Language.— Ada Smith pleaded "Not guilty" to a charge of uping obscene language in a public place, to wit, Madras street, on Feb. 20. Rebecca Hartnell and Mary Ballantyne stated that accused made use of very indeoent language in front of their house yesterday evening. Constable Eamsay gave evidence. Accused, in answer to the Bench, said she was drunk at the time. She was sentenced to forty-eight houra' imprisonment. Bbeaking Glass.—Ada Smith pleaded "Guilty" to a charge of breaking three panes of glass, value 12s, the property of Rebecca Hartnell, on Feb. 20. Judgment was given for plaintiff by default.—Fenerty and Buddie v. S« Vogan, claim .£l2 16s Id, judgment summons. Mr Loughrey for judgment creditors. The debtor's ability to pay was proved, and he was ordered to pay the debt and costs forthwith, in default six weeka' imprisonment. —J. R. King and Co. v; C. Lewis, claim £9 7a for commission on the sale of one hundred and seventy-seven acres of land at Fairlie Creek. Mr Franks for plaintiffs; Mr Cresswell for defendant. Defendant denied that he had made any agreement with plaintiffs in regard to commission. Judgment was given for plaintiffs with costs. —Caygill aud Widdowson v. G. Bowron and William Bowron, claim £18 17a for lawyer's bill of coats. Mr Cresswell for plaintiffs; Mr Byrne for defendants. The defence was that the costs were fixed at £5 for the transaction, and judgment waß given for plaintiffs for that amount,

each party to pay its own costs.— The cases of Baynes Bros. v. H. Smith, claim £2 Os 6d, and eamev. J.Armfeld claim 16b lOd, were adjourned till Feb. 23.
