HE TOOK THE ANSWER.
An old man from a workhouse ttaa eenfc with a note to the vicar's, and was told to wait for an answer. On arriving there he was asked in. The vicar came forward and took the note, asking fcim to take a chair. The old man, thinking that "to take a chair." wai the answer to the note, after the vicar left; to go into another room, took a chair and walked off with it through the town to the workhouse, a distance of a raile, arriving with it in hiahand— much to the astonisEment and amusement of the master and matron.
