Canterbttby Catholic Literaby So? cibtt. — There was a well-attended meet* ing of the Canterbury Catholic Literary Society on Tuesday, the chief attraction o£ the evening being an elocutionary and reading competition. Eight members entered, each contributing an item of his own choice, followed by- a test piece at sight. The various items were creditably rendered, the prize— an elegant draught board and set of draughts, the gi£b of Me F. Cooper— falling to Mr F. Holland, after a close contest. ,
