Accidents and Fatalities.
[Pern Pbess Association.! DUNEDIN, July 20. John Barry, forty years of age. a single man, was drowned to-day in the Taieri river near Otakia. The body ha 3 been recovered. About half-past eight o'clock yesterday morning a horse, harnessed to one of Messrs Lan«down and Steele'a butchers' carts, bolted rom the Queen's Hotel, Cashel street, and ran as far as the Al Hotel, where the cart capsized. No damage was clone. Inspector Pender received a telegram yeeterday rooming from Constable O'Connell, stationed ab Methven, informing him that George Solie Bishop, aged two years and eight months, son of Mr William Bishop, of Springburn, had died suddenly on Tuesday afternoon of ciamp. No doctor had been in attendance, and an inquest will be held.
