— » The following telegrams have been forwarded to Wellington by Mrs K. W. Sheppard, Superintendent of Petitions : — "To the Hon the Premier,— On behalf of the twenty thousand women who signed the petition for women's suffrage, permit me to thank the Government for its firm resolve to do justice to the women of the Colony." " To Sir John Hall,— On behalf of the twenty thousand women whose petition for euffragal privileges ycu have presented, permit me to express our thanks to you and the other friends of woman for your continued and generous advocacy of our claims." "To the Hon the Speaker Legislative Council,— On behalf of the twenty thousand women who petition your honourable Council for the franchise, permit me to express our hope that Councillors will generously consider the justice of our appeal for direct representation."
