TPkb Press Association.! WELLINGTON, July 21. Mr Hoben, Secretary to the New Zealand Rugby Union, has suggested to the Commissioners of the Chicago Exhibition the holding of an international Rugby football tournament at the World's Fair, in which a New Zealand team would take part. Tbo suggestion is approved by the Premier, who has forwarded an introductory letter with Mr Hoben'a suggestions, expressing the desire of the Government^that they should be adopted. The proposals are that the New Zealand team, which proposes to leave here at the end of July, 1893, to play in Australia in August, and the United Kin gdom in October, November and December, should return via the States with an English team, and play Harvard, Yale and Princeton Universities, in New York, &c. 5 and at Chicago meet an English and American combined, American Universities and Canadian teams, returning to New Zealand in March, 1894. Mr Hoben's enquiries indicate that if thepropoEalß are adopted the team will be welcomed in the States where Rugby football has made great strides of late, and is now a fashionable game. The scheme would also meet the desire of the English Union to popularise the game in America.
