LYTTLETON.
Ims Day. (Beforo H. Allwrißht and J. B. Milsom E..Q8.) Larceny. — Edward Coates was charged with the larceny of an overcoat, valued at £2, tho property of Mr J. T. Brice. Accused pleaded "Not Guilty." J. T. Brice identified the coat as his property. It had a capn on when it was taken from the shop on Monday aflernoon. Ooußtable Bleasel gave evidence to arresting the accused, who waa wearing the overcoat, and said first thai; he had purchased it in Australia, and then that he hud given souio tobacco in exchange for it. Accused whs sent to gaol for ono ni.inth.
