A DIAMOND ROBBERY.

A 12,000d0l diamond robbery has ccme be» light at Los Angeloa. On the evening of Jan. 7, J. M. Wagner, a jeweller, reported at police headquarters the loss of a pocket-book and a lot of diamonds, suppoßed to have dropped out of his pocket while onb driving. An advertisement was also inserted in the papers, offering 500dol8 reward for the return of the property, and no questions asked. No description of the property wa3 given, nor was ita valuo stated. "Wagner now Bays the diamonds were stolen from a desk in his Btore. He states that a San Francisco man, a jeweller, was in the store, and he showed him the diamonds, and then placed them in a drawer of the desk and went out riding. On his return the diamonds and pocket-book were missing. No trace of either lias since been found. Wagner refuses to give tho name of the man who was in the store and went riding with him, and declines to give any particulars beyond the fact that the diamonds were stolen, and that hia lose is 12,000d01.
