School Committee Elections
SYDENHAM,
A well-attended meeting of householders was held in the main schoolroom, Colombo road last night. Mr H. Bonnington presided. Mr C. Foßter read a statement of accounts showing receipts for the last year .£3175 19s Bd, and expenditure .£3169 2s 4d, leaving a credit of .£6 17s sd. The election of a new Committee was then proceeded with, the Beys L. M. leitt and P. E. Monro being scrutineers. The following was the result :—J. Forrester 93, J. L. Scott 62, W. H. Meikleham 48, W. J. Budd 48, F. C. Hall 4A, E. Jones 43, T. S. Asquith 40, J. A. Caygill 35, S. Wilson 29, S. Lezard 28, J. Bennetts 19, — Disher 15, ii. Hocken 9, — Marks 8. The Chairman thereupon declared Messrs Forrester, Scott, Meikleham, Eudd, Hall, Jones and Aequith elected as the Committee. A vote of thanks was passed to the retiring Committee. The Committee subsequently met and elected Mr Forrester Chairman.
