SENIOR CUP MATCHES.
The most noticeable feature iv connection with Saturday's play in Senior Cup matches, was the unexpected and somewhat unaccountable defeat of the Midlanders by an innings and 18 runs. Their battng, with but few exceptions, on Saturday was feeble in the extreme, even admitting that the very fast wicket went against them and that their luok was none of the best. The Lancastrian fifteen are still very much the " upper dog " in their tussle with the United Eleven, and of course Ashley County went down comfortably before Addington, another oue innings defeat being chronicled against the northerners.
