The following is a copy of a letter received by the Headmaster of the Sydenham School, with regard to regular attendance :— " Colombo road, Sydenham, "Dec. 18, 1890. " Dear Sir, — Seeing a paragraph in Monday's paper re children attending school, and pointing out a case in which one child attended regularly, I wish to bring under your notice the attendance of my family. I am pleased to say that they have not missed three days during eight years. The following is a summary of their attendance : — Percy Adams, five years, never missed ; Annie Adams, six years, missed two days ; Frederick Adams, seven years, never missed ; Arthur Adams, five years, never missed ; Edith Adams, three years, never missed ; Minnie Adams, one year, never missed. This will not only show their good attendance, but their good health. Then again, not one has failed to pass the respective standards. I hope to see other reports, but I think they will have a job to beat this. — I remain, " Tours faithfully, " L. Adams."
