ACCLIMATISATION.
MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. » The ordinary monthly meeting of the Council of the Canterbury Acclimatisation Society was held at Warner's Hotel yesterday afternoon ; present — Hon J. T. Peacock (Chairman), Messrs A. Scott, Hamer (Ron Sec), H. O. Forbes, Morris, P. Cunningham, Lewis, Seymour and Ritchie. The Secretary read a report showing the number of young fish turned out Bince June 30. The numbers wero as follow : — English salmon 10, Brook trout or char 15,700, Scotch brown trout 500, Balinon trout 9200, Loch Leven trout 7000, brown trout 71,300; total 103,710. The Secretary was authorised to gazette the list of rangers, and, after transacting some routine business, the meeting adjourned.
