A RELIGIOUS FEUD.
SYDNEY, I-'OV. 12. News from Hong Kong states that the American flagship Alliance has been despatched to the Caroline Islands in consequence of a feud which has arisen between Catholic and Protestant converts. [Peb fRESB Association.] GISBORNE, Nov. 12. The adjourned bankruptcy meeting in Graham Pitt Bennett's estate was held this afternoon, and formal business was transacted. The meeting adjourned until Nov. 27 for the convenience of outside creditors and to allow of tenders coming in. WELLINGTON, Nov. 12. SCHOOL OF ART. The Education Board have accepted a tender of £5999 103 for the erection of Board offices and a school of art. DUNEDIN, Nov. 12. Another match for a purse of £50 has been arranged between D. C. Boss and Dunn for the championship of the world, which it is understood Cannon, though defeated by both Dunn and Ross, is now claiming in London. The High School Board to-day decided to appoint Miss Flora M. Allen, M.A., as Latin and French teacher at the Girls' High School. The University Council to-day agreed to allow Professor Salo a year's rest on full salary on account of ill-health.
