[Per Peees Association.] NAPIER, July 21. The Supreme Court opened to-day. Mr I Justice Conolly was welcomed by Mr Lee, the senior member of tbe Bar. The Judge replying, said he had not been appointed to this district, nor was he likely to be, but only took the place of the Judge who was unable to come. The criminal calendar is very light. Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and hail squalls have prevailed since Saturday night. The 'rivers are flooded, detaining Taupo coach and Wairoa mailman. A man named Thomas Mansfield, was found dead yesterday in a bush clearing near Danevirke. The weather was piercingly cold, and it is supposed that his death was caused through exposure.
