Merinos, except very faulty scoured, realised prices fully on a par with those ruling at the close of last sales, and in many instances fetched higher prices. Croßß-breds had an upward tendency. Tin, .£96 10s. The New Zealand Loan and Trust Company has declared a dividend of 10 per cent. July 17. There is a good demand for kauri gum. Stocks are small, and consequently prices are improving. Fine Auckland hemp is quoted at £22 10a; fair to medium Wellington, .£l9. New Zealand heavy oats are quoted at 28s 6d, ordinary at 225. Wool still remains unchanged. New Zealand mutton, 4£-d; lamb, s£d; beefhind quarters 3}d, fore quarters 2d. LONDON, July 18. The total amount of reserve in the Bank of England is .£11,716,000. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 34*72, consols 964-, New Zealand 4 per cent inscribed stock 104J, 3 \ ditto 94*. New Zealand long-berried wheat 375, firm. No. 1 best Scotch pig iron, f.o.b. in Clyde, 45s 3d. Sugar— German beet, 12s 6d, steady; Java, 149 6d. The quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,296,000 quarters; for the Continent, 704,000. The estimated American visible supply is 18,592,000 bushels. Wool is unchanged.
