Caebiebs and Cabtebs* Union.— lhe carriers and carters of Christchurch are taking steps to form a Union, and intend to ask tho storemen to join them in the movement. Impoeted Dogs. — Notwithstanding the severe quarantine regulations, Mr F. Eogen, of Wellington, has ventured to import from England a magnificent pair of bull terriers of the large type, weighing over _01b each. Both animals are pure white. Some of the leading dog fanciers Baw them on the s.s. Mana just before they left for Somes' Island, and declare them to be of exceptional merit. The dog is by Candidate out of Lady Octavia, &c, and the Blut is by Bendigo out of Blue Body, £c. Mr Eogen has the full pedigree certificate of the dogs from the English Kennel Club. The dogs will have to remain on Somes' Island for sis months.
