Band Contest.
TO THE EDITOR. • Sir, — The Committee <vho undertook to carry out the band contest last November do not appear to have been able to carry out their undertaking. Considering the splendid support the public have always given the Christchurch bands, I think it is , time they gave us a show to understand how they came to be so far behind. I, for one, have always given with a liberal hand towards the bands, and I think that those in power should let tho public know how it is, instead of appealing to the public as they arc. I think, sir, I have a right in asking them to show their hand. — I am, &c, CANTERBURY. Richmond, May 6.
