The latest and most unique invention is a machine for buttering bread. It. is used I in connection with, a great patent breadoatter, and ia intended foe use in prisons, workhouses, and reformatory and other institutions. There is a cylindrical-shaped brush which is fed with butter, and lays a \ thin layer on the bread as it comes from the cutter. The machine can be worked by hand, steam, or electricity, and has a \ capaoity of cutting and buttering 750 loavec ! of bread an hour.
