It was a fact i that the employment of plumbers was a : terror to householders in Wellington just . now. \ An ex-aEsistant groom of the Co-opsrative Bus Company said ho worked five days in \ the week from 5.30 a.m. to 11 p.m., and on [ another day from 5.30 a.m. to 8 p.m. His , wages were 25s per week. The President of the Bakers' Union stated that before the Union came into existence, the bakers in some shops worked from eighty to ninety hours per week.
