CALCUTTA, Aph.il 19. The Khojak Pass Tunnel.
Tho work of. piercing the tunnel through the Khojak Pass, between Quetta and Candahar, haa been finished. The completion of the work, which removes the last obstacle to railway communication with Candahar, was greeted with enthusiasm by the men employed on the line.
MELBOURNE, April 50.
Diamonds Detained.
The Postmaster-General has detained a -parcel of diamonds, valued at .£SOOO. The •reason assigned is that the stones were sent to a diamond broker in Melbourne by a defaulting insolvent in Eelgium. The Belgian Consul has guaranteed Government against any loss which may be incurred by their action.
