MASONIC.

GRAND LODGE OF NEW ZEALAND. The following details are embodied in a circular issued — in connection with the Grand Lodge of New Zealand— by the Central Executive Committee at Wellington :— Arrangements have now been made with the Railway Commissioners by which members of Lodges in the Southland, Otago, and Canterbury districts, who are desirous of attending the communications of the Grand Lodge at Christchurch on April 29 and 30, will be granted Saturday return tickets at the various stations en route, on production to the stationmasters of a certificate in writing from the Secretary or other duly-authorised Lodge official that the holder has been selected to attend such meetings. Tickets will be granted for seven days previous to the first day of the ceremony, and will be available for the return journey for a month from date of issue. The Commissioners require to be informed, as early as possible, from what stations brethren will travel, in order that the necessary instructions a3 to the issue of tickets may be given to the district railway officers. As the Committee is desirous of seeing a large attendance on the occasion abovementioned, which will be the most important Masonic ceremony ever held in New Zealand, it is hoped that early intimations will be sent in. At the quarterly communication of the District Grand Lodge, held last evening in the St Augustine Hall, the District Grand Master, Bro H. Thomson, referred to the fact that this would be the last occasion on which he would preside in that capacity. He said that since IS7G he had virtually had the governance of the Craft in this Provincial district, and for five and a half years he had held the high office of District Grand Master. He made reference to the assistance which had been rendered by the various officers of Grand Lodge, whom he heartily thanked for their attention to the duties devolving upon them, and for their loyal support. He | further announced that the Deputy D.G.M., Bro P. Cunningham, would continue in that position under the English Constitution, to which he had decided to adhere. W. Bro P. Cunningham also briefly addressed the brethren, acknowledging heartily the great amount of work done by Bro Thomson in the interests of the Craft, and wishing him God-speed. [_Pkr Press Association.
