ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
[Per Pbess Association.] WELLINGTON, Apbil 17. A settler named Eton, residing at Manahoe, Pahiacua district, was killed this morning by a tree falling on him. NELSON, Apeii, 17. la connection with the missing settlers I Brearton and Son, of Ngatimoti, near Motueka, who went for a few days' fishing ; to Astrolabe, in a catamaran, intending • to return on Good Friday, but of whom ' nothing has been seen since April 3, part | of the catamaran has been found near Awaroa by Mr W. D. Murray, surveyor, and brought to Nelson. The portion consists of a canoe with wreckage, which bound it to a fellow canoe. There waß a paddle in this canoe, but the bodies have not been found. It is believed that the two canoea came asunder in a squall on April 3, when the craft was seen from a coaster and missed after the Equall. . i
