A WALL OF WATEB. [Special to Piibbb abbociatioh.] " SYDNEY, Apbii. 17. The poaition of Bourke is very critical, &s there ib a wall of six feet of water all round the town. The embankment recently thrown up sprang a leak to-day, but by smart work it, was stopped before serious damage was dene. The railway line waa -cut away to save the line, and relieve the town and embankments. At Brewarrina, where the dam burst, the town ia inundated to a depth of four feet, and business is entirely suspended. Several brick buildings are collapsing, owing to the foundations giving way. [Brewarrina is on the southern bank of the Barwon, about seventy miles East from Bourke. A considerable number of brick buildings have been recently erected, among them being two bonded warehouses, a Boman Catholic presbytery of a handsome and substantial style, and the Episcopal church.
