Certificates are, however, to be given at the annual shows instead of prizemoney. HIBERNIANS. J2The Auckland branch of the Hibernian. Society have, presented gold crosses to the past President and President of the branch, Brothers D. Flynn aud W. Beehin, .in> acknowledgment of their services to the Order. A GOOD SUGGESTION. A suggestion has been made that ' a public testimonial, in the form of an appro- - priate tombßtone, shall be erected at the grave of the late Henry Talbot. A DAN-GERGEFS MINE. It is reported by a Hamilton correspondent that Government have osdered that work shall cease" in the Taupiri coal •• mine. It is- considered that the mine is dangerous- The property has just, been handed over to tbe owner, after having been worked by the Company foj>. ten • years.
