An Essay on Time. Time is usually represented as a bowlegged old man, hobbling along with a rusty, broken-edged scythe that wouldn't cut cheese on a cold day ; but every man who is deep in debt, and seeks to stare off calamity bygiving his acceptance, will tell you with woful eyes that "Old Invincible " now does his travelling with a pair of the stoutest wings, with not a feather out of place, and carrying a nickel silver keyless "Waterbury," showing time to the minute. Procrastination may be " the thief of time," but if he cribs a " Waterbury/' you can replace it at. the following figures : — "Series E." — The . best form of the original Waterbnry. A good, cheap, serviceiable watch, with nickelled case stem-winder, and runs twenty-eight hours with one winding. These are made by the best automatic machinery. Price, 133 6d. "Series J."— The new Waterbury, short-wind, stem-set, enamelled dial, with seconds-hand, jewelled, duplex escapement, same diameter as " Series E," but not bo, thick. Price, 22s 6d, or with patent dial 20s. "Series L." — The Ladies' Waterbury, which is the latest, and is a short-wind, stem-set, enamelled dial, jewelled, duplex escapement watch, smaller than " Series E " and J." Price, 22s Gd, or with patent dial, 20s. CAUTION. — If you want correct time and a watch which, in event of accident, can be cheaply repaired, demand the WATERBURY WATCH. There are regular foot reading women, who make a livelihood out of their strange calling.
