FLOWER SHOW AT RICHMOND.

A pretty and attractive display of flowers, fruit, and vegetables wao made at the Foresters 1 Hall, Richmond, yesterday afternoon and evening, and was visited by a number of persons. The show whs held in connection with the Court Pride of Richmond, A.0.F., and was a pleasant social gathering. Here it may not be out of place to remark that the Foresters have done much good in .Richmond, not only as a friendly society in providing for cases of eickness and death, but by encouraging that pleasant social intercourse which is essential to ahealtliytoneinacommunity. Their efforts are in every way worthy of support. The present show was held to augment the funds of the Lodge. The hall presented a gay appearance from the abundance of pot plants and beautiful cut blooms which were displayed within it. Pendent from the roof were festoons of evergreens and flowers. Upon a middle table were collections of fern 3 and other pot plants sent by Messrs Turton, F. C. East, W. Baker and Mortimer. On one side of the hall the cut blooms were staged, and upon the other the fruit and vegetables — very creditable displays. Messrs JSoss and Leightonsenta collection of a hundred spikes of gladioli, including a great variety of blooms ; Mr J. G. Daviß, China asters, dahlias, pansies, apples ; Mr Pedlar, seven stands of China asters ; Mr Lawrence, verbenas and dahlias, appleß j Mr Denson, three stands roses, petunias, plums, and collection of vegetables ; Mr "W. Baker, single dahlias, very simple and pretty ; Mr Eees, dahlias and lilies ; Mr Crooks, roses j Sir Mortimer, apples, pears, tomatoes, potatoes (very fine kidneys) ; Mr Anderson, apples ; Mr J. Barbour, pears and peaches ; Mr Jackman, very fine plums, Pond's seedling variety (twelve weighing 3Gozs) ; Messrs Kerr and Barnett, collections of cut blooms and apples, the latter including a novel variety of crab j Mr Cummings, two fine" bunches grapes, cauliflowers ; Mr Ledsham, very fine tomatoes ; Mr Howard, collection of vegetables. The fruit was sold by auction during the evening.
