POPULAR SPORTS.
<s> A meeting of the Popular Sport 3 CommitteeTrasheld last evening in the library of the City Conncil buildings. Mr B. Crooks presided, and there waa a good .attendance of members. Messrs Winnie and Murray, the auditors, brought up their report, from which it appeared that there was a balance to credit of .£235 12s 7d. The report was. adopted on the motion of Mr Garrard, seconded by Mr C. Samuels. -Mr Denny moved—" That the sum of JBSO be voted towards the charitable institutions of the city, to be distributed as follows :— %£2o to the Hospital Destitute Patients' Pundj JBIQ to Mr Herrick'B .Home; £5 each to the Prison Gate Mission, the Magdalen Home, St Catherine's Home and St Mary's Home." Mr C Samuels Beconded the motion, which was Agreed to. A hearty vote of thanks- was accorded to Mr Murray for his>asßiatance in auditing tho accounts. . Mr W. E. Samuels moved — "That the Chairman be- requested to see the Domain ! Board re putting up a permanent^fenca. Mr J- Gapes, junr^eeconded the nix*tion, which was carried. Mr Scholfield moved—" That an Executive Committee be appointed representing the PopularSporte Association, Hibernians, Oddfellows, Druids, Buffaloes, Foresters, Working Men's Clubs, and Fire Brigades, consulting of Messrs Woodrough, Garrard, Winnie, C. Samuels, O'Shanghnessy, j_awrenee,W. E. Samuels, and E.Turton; the Cojoimittee to draw up a code of rules for theruture guidance of the Association, and to report at a meeting to beheldon±he second Thursday in March." v Mr O.
